The development of the SummerGuide20L+ backpack began with conversations with our friends at BergSchaft about the challenges of summer guiding. One issue stood out: ordinary backpacks often fail to withstand the daily wear and tear of guiding in the mountains, leaving guides needing to replace their gear every season. With this in mind, we set a clear goal—to create a simple, durable 20-liter backpack that could stand up to the rigors of daily use in tough conditions.

For the body of the backpack, we relied on the trusted Ecopak Ultra series fabrics, known for their exceptional durability and lightweight properties. For the back panel, we opted for EPLX450RS, a fabric we’ve come to favor for a better sweat absorption than the Ultra fabrics. This combination ensures both durability and comfort for long summer days in the mountains.

The development process involved three rounds of prototypes, with testing carried out in Norway and the High Tatras in Slovakia. These environments provided the perfect testing grounds for real-world use, allowing us to refine every detail.

The SummerGuide20L+ was the first product manufactured in our new partner factory in Slovakia—a milestone that reflects our commitment to local production and quality craftsmanship.

From the initial idea to the final product, the entire process took just four months. This included designing, prototyping, testing, and bringing the first batch to market. The result is the SummerGuide20L+, a reliable, durable, and thoughtfully designed backpack built for summer adventures in the mountains. It’s a product we’re proud to share with outdoor enthusiasts who demand the very best from their gear.
