The SummerGuide 20L+ backpack was developed in close collaboration with the Swiss mountain guide collective BERGSCHAFT. Our goal was the same as with the original version: to create a compact, highly durable pack built specifically for the demands of professional summer guiding. With feedback from the field and months of testing behind us, we’re excited to introduce the updated model—refined in the details, but true to its original purpose.

One of the core changes lies in the shoulder strap. We replaced the previous mesh on the shoulder straps with a more snow-friendly alternative that resists buildup during early season conditions or unexpected summer flurries. The shoulder strap pockets are now made of UltraStretch—one sized for a phone, the other for a soft bottle, now with a secure closure system.

For the main fabric, we stuck with what works: Ultra200X throughout the body, with a reinforced Ultra400X base for added abrasion resistance. The back panel is made of EcoPak EPLX450RS, which we continue to prefer for its combination of sweat resistance and structure. Inside, the lining is now TX70, a lighter and more durable fabric compared to the Nylon we used previously.

The feature set remains minimal, but purposeful:
– A roll-top closure with integrated magnets for clean alignment
– An external zippered pocket for fast-access items
– Two internal compartments: one for valuables (wallet, keys), the other sized specifically for a SAM splint
– Ice axe holders that can be used as side compression or rope straps
– A removable top lid strap for rope carry
– A 25mm removable hip belt with an aluminum triglide
– A magnetic buckle on the chest strap, with redesigned clips for easier adjustment
– Lightweight aluminum ladder-locks on the shoulder straps for added durability

We tested the new version again with guides from both BERGSCHAFT and our extended circle of athletes—this time with a focus on early season snow conditions, sustained daily use, and more technical terrain. As before, the backpack is proudly produced in our partner factory in Slovakia, continuing our commitment to high-quality, local manufacturing.

This updated SummerGuide 20L+ reflects everything we’ve learned from real-world use: small changes in material and construction that make a big difference in comfort, durability, and usability.

It’s built for guides, but ready for anyone who moves fast and light in the mountains.
